Gesture drawing: A gesture drawing is usually a quick, often simple drawing that captures the essential feeling, energy, movement, action, or pose of the subject. It contains a minimum amount of information (line, tone, markings) to achieve the maximum results of the essence of the subject. It can be realistic, but is not always. It does not try to capture anything “photo-realistically” but instead alters reality down to its purest form to tell the story of the scene being drawn.

  • Begin original butterfly/moth drawing
  • Butterfly/moth drawing requirements
    • must be hand drawn (no tracing)
    • must use a combination of the pen, pencil, paintbrush, curvature tools (no shape tools)
    • must choose a color scheme
    • must use gradients
    • Optional (can be symmetrical or asymmetrical)
    • Should have a three dimensional appearance (add shadows/highlights to achieve this effect)

Closure: When using the reflect tool what is the function of the shift key, when holding "shift-alt" the clicking and dragging the shape?
